SCOTT BERNARD

Scott Bernard is part of the REF fleet sent by Admiral Rick Hunter to liberate Earth from the Invid. Scott commands the 21st Mars Division Squadron and during this operation leads them into battle against the Invid. This operation however turns into a tragedy as the entire REF fleet is destroyed and everybody is lost, including Scott fiancé, Marlene. Scott ends up being the sole survivor as he crash-lands on Earth in his Alpha fighter. Immediately after crash-landing, he remembers his one and only goal; destroy the Invid at any cost. He quickly begins assembly a group of fighters willing to help him complete his task; and before long, he has 5 people willing to follow him. Scott is single-minded and a very determined soldier; he never likes to stand around and doesn't know the meaning of relaxation. His entourage of friends however, teach him how to lighten up every once-in-a-while, but he still remains a great soldier, a awesome cyclone operator and Alpha fighter pilot. One person in particular who helps Scott relax, is Marlene, the amnesiac woman whom they pick up along the way to Reflex Point. She reminds him so much of his former love and slowly falls in love with her. As Scott and his team get closer to Reflex Point, Scott learns of another REF fleet approaching Earth. He quickly teams up with them and together they are able to force the Invid to take severe casualties; therefore they end up leaving Earth. Scott Bernard's relationship with Marlene doesn't work out as we had hoped; his final gesture in the 3rd series is to leave Earth to set out and find Admiral Rick Hunter, whom he has been waiting for all this time.

LANCER (a.k.a. YELLOW DANCER)
Age: 22-24
Actor: Jimmy Flinders

He is a skilled pilot and freedom fighter who joins Scott Bernard and his team against the Invid. Lancer has had his run-ins with the Invid before, therefore has developed an alternate female identity to avoid capture. He developed this alternate identity a year or so ago, with the help of his old girlfriend Carla. She dressed him up once to avoid capture and has since used his identity as Yellow Dancer to sing in public; therefore giving hope to the population of one day returning to a normal life. During battle, Lancer is one who knows his way around the battlefield. Lancer is also a good leader, when he speaks the others listen, because he has a good deal of common sense. He also helps Scott sometimes, when tough decisions need to be made. Near the end of the 3rd series, Lancer meets and falls in love with the Invid named Sera. Together they are able to form a tentative peace between the Invid and human forces.

RAND
Age: 17-19
Actor: Anthony Wayne

The first to join Scott Bernard on his mission is a young arrogant wanderer named Rand. He is a self-taught survivor who is saved by Scott after being chased by Invid Troopers. Although he is loner by nature, Rand learns the value of friendship and teamwork and therefore becomes a very good freedom fighter with Scott's group. Rand is also the clown of the group, pulling out those one-liners at the proper moment. When Rook Bartley joins the group, Rand immediately shows his feelings for her, but she doesn't return them. Rand & Rook always fight side-by-side in all the battles and become great friends as the mission to Reflex Point progresses. Rand likes Rook so much, that when she decides to leave the group, Rand agrees to follow her. Of course Rook eventually came to her senses and neither of them leave group. Towards the end of the series, Rook eventually returns the feelings that Rand had shown for her early on. Rand also decides to fight along the returning REF forces in the final battle at Reflex Point, although it is against Scott's wishes.

ROOK BARTLEY
Age: 18-20
Actor: Susie London

Rook Bartley grew up among the ruins of the 2nd Robotech War. She learned how to be tough and independent at early age because of the fact that she part of the gang wars, which existed in her hometown. Rook joins Scott's group in the third episode of the New Generation Saga. she is very tough early on, and puts up a brave emotion armor for a woman. Rand actually tries to show her that he loves her, but Rook has trouble relating with other people, therefore she doesn't return Rand's feelings. Throughout the series Rook learns to love all of her companions, she learns the value of being together as a family. She listens to Scott & Lancer (who are the leaders), thinks of Annie as her little sister and becomes great friends with Rand. At a certain point though, all the daily battles with the Invid catch up to her and decides to leave the group. It doesn't take long however for her realize that she can't leave her friends behind. At the final battle with the Invid, Rook & Rand would end up fighting alongside the returning REF forces.

JIM "LUNK" COOPER
Age: 25-27
Actor: Richard Epcar

This is not the first Robotech War that Lunk has fought in. He is a survivor of the 2nd Robotech War, in which he was a bio-mechanical engineer. Since the Invid arrival on Earth, Lunk has been plagued with worries and insecurities from his actions during the initial Invid invasion. During the invasion, Lunk was forced to run away and watch his friends be killed by the Invid forces. Since then, Lunk tries to prove to himself that he isn't a total coward and believes he can do this by joining Scott's team. With the team Lunk is constantly in charge of mecha maintenance and seldom participates in battle. Lunk also protects Annie & Marlene while the others do battle with the Invid.

ANNIE "MINT" LABELLE
Age: 13-15
Actor: Mary Cobb

Of the seven resistance fighters, Annie is the youngest and probably the most obnoxious. She first appears in the episode "The Lost City", giving Scott & Rand a tour of an island. The three of them are actually feed to the Invid by the locals; but Scott & Rand manage to fight them off and leave town; that's when Annie decides to tag along. Throughout the series she always wants to be in the middle of things, sometimes getting in over her head. Despite her annoying antics her teammates would go to great lengths to protect her. They actually even plan a surprise birthday party for her! It was probably the greatest day in her life to date. In spite of the fact that she left the group at one time, to marry a young tribal warrior; she comes back of course. Annie's nickname "Mint", is given to her by Rand because of the fact that she loves peppermint candy so much.

MARLENE
Actor: Aline Leslie

She is the first humanoid Invid created by The Invid Regis to spy on Scott Bernard's team. However during her conception, Ariel (she is known as such by the Invid), is hurt and loses all of her memory when found by Scott and the others. Believing her to be a wounded human female, the team takes her into their care; furthermore Scott names her Marlene, in memory of his dead fiancé. At first Marlene appears to be very weird to the group, she doesn't say much and gets a strange sensation when the Invid are approaching. This is because of the fact that she is an Invid, but doesn't know it; nevertheless this is a great warning for Scott's team. With the time that she spends with team, Marlene learns human customs and emotions, and eventually would fall in love with Scott Bernard. Though both are shocked when they discover that she is an Invid; after being wounded and bleeding green Invid blood. At the end of the series Marlene along with Sera convince The Regis to fleet Earth rather than die fighting.

SERA
Actor: Shirley Roberts

Along with Corg, Sera is the result of the Regis' second attempt to create a humanoid Invid. According to the Regis, Sera is the Invid Princess. At first glance Sera is a cunning and ruthless warrior, but when she encounters Lancer for the first time all that changes. Sera falls prey to human emotions and begins to fall in love with Lancer. At every encounter with Lancer, she is mesmerized by her newfound emotions, that she can't kill him and becomes very shaky during battle. Eventually she realizes the futility of her races' actions and joins with Lancer & Marlene to convince the the Regis to stop doing battle with the humans. They succeed in their attempt and Sera decides to remain with Lancer on Earth.

THE REGIS
Actor: Celena Banas

Mother, queen, call her what you will but the Regis is the supreme ruler of the Invid. The Invid are a protoplasmic race of beings who's home planet is Optera, the world from which originated the Flowers of Life. The Flowers of Life are the main foodstuff for the Invid race and they were stolen a long time ago by the Robotech Master named Zor. Since then the Regis has tried to get the flowers back, but has been unsuccessful until arriving on Earth. Upon arrival, the Regis destroyed any human resistance and turned the whole planet into giant harvesting farm for the Flower of Life. Her ultimate goal is the evolution and survival of her race. She is trying to find the perfect form for her race and since she has decided to make Earth, her new home planet, she must turn her race in humanoids. Therefore the Regis created Ariel (also known as Marlene), Sera & Corg as her first humanoid Invids. Intelligent and ruthless as she is, the Regis cannot tolerate humans who remind her so much of the Robotech Masters, whom she hates. What the Regis doesn't realize is that she is acting just like them, and it takes Sera & Marlene to convince to leave Earth rather than continue a war which may destroy both races.

CORG
Actor: Ardwight Chamberlain

The Invid Prince, Corg like Sera is a humanoid Invid created by the Regis. Corg is an extremely skilled fighter and constantly leads attack upon attack against the freedom fighters, as ordered by the Regis. He also at some point begins to feel human emotions, but unlike his so-called sisters. Corg learns feelings such as hate and aggressions, and directs them towards his enemies. In the final battle at Reflex Point, Corg is responsible for many REF deaths but is eventually defeated and killed by Scott Bernard in a one-on-one confrontation.
