Macross Saga | Robotech Master's Saga | New Generation Saga

DANA STERLING
Rank: Lieutenant
Age: 18-20
Actor: Melissa Newman

She is the first daughter of Max & Miriya Sterling and the first Human-Zentreadi child. Dana doesn't accompany her parents to Tirol and remains on Earth with her childhood friend Bowie Grant, under the supervision of General Rolf Emerson. She is among one of the first to graduate from the new Robotech Military Academy. Soon after she would be put in command of the 15th ATAC, but because of her young age and wild streaks, she is often at odds with other members of the 15th squad. Even though some of the other members question her judgment, they never question her ability to operate a hovertank in battle. Because of this, the 15th squad is commended more than once for it's great work and throughout the series is put to the test by accepting special missions ordered by Earth Command. Dana Sterling has a very energetic personality and on her off-duty time finds many ways to have fun. This sometimes gets her into trouble with the Global Military Police - namely Nova Satori. Because of her dual heritage, Dana has an added dimension of precognition of the Robotech Masters and their plans. Dana is a catalyst for much of the happenings in the second saga; however towards the end of the series she loses much of her innocence and is pessimistic about the future.

Dana Sterling's 15th ATAC (Alpha Tactical Armored Corps) consists of 13 soldiers, including herself. The 15th squad are as follows: Sergeant Angelo Dante is second-in-command, Corporal Louie Nichols, Private 2nd-class Sean Phillips, Private Bowie Grant, Private Felix, Private Jordan, Private Simon, Private Road, Private Craigston & three others. (Some of latter died during the recon mission into the Masters ship, in the episode "The Trap").

ANGELO DANTE

Actor: Drew Thomas

Angelo is the tough guy of the 15th squad and also a very no-nonsense down-to-earth kind of guy. "Angie" - as the other soldiers call him - is second-in-command of the squad, which puts him at odds early on in the series with Lieutenant Sterling. But as the days and missions go bye, Angelo comes to realize that the success of every mission depends very much on the performance of their leader and therefore grows to respect Dana. One person however that Angelo doesn't respect or trust is Zor; he keeps a watchful eye over him in his time as a member of the 15th squad.

SEAN PHILLIPS
Rank: Private 2nd-class

The best way to describe Sean Phillips, is to say he's a "playboy". Chasing women, could be considered his favorite pastime, although it has gotten him into very big trouble. He used to be a first lieutenant and in charge of the 15th squad, until he got caught with the daughter of a high-ranking Southern Cross official. Charismatic as he may be, Sean would eventually fall in love - for real - with Marie Crystal. He would end up saving her from crashing while piloting her Logan Veritech in battle; he also visits her, while she's in the hospital, but Marie has a hard time believing that his love is sincere. Even though Sean Phillips leads a spirited life, he still makes a good soldier to have in combat.

Throughout the series Marie would have run-ins with Sean Phillips of the 15th squad. At first she finds him repulsive, considering his reputation, although he tries to prove to her that he loves her. One night while off duty, at a party, she finds out that she does have feelings for Sean, as she totally dislikes watching another woman kissing Sean. At the very end of the series Marie is one 3 people captured by the Robotech Masters and used as trade to get Zor & Musica back. Louie is the young genius of the 15th ATAC; his vast knowledge on mecha makes him a great asset to the squad. During his off duty time Louis is constantly tinkering with the squads hovertanks and other stuff. His most recognized invention is the so called "pupil pistol". It uses a eye-controlled aiming system that was original designed to be used in a arcade game. However, once the military got word of this, his invention found it's way into military mecha. This never sat well with Louie, as he never intended on using it for killing. Due to his great expertise, Louie also helped Southern Cross scientists figure out how the alien Bioroids function. For a certain mission he ended up devising a plan, that would disable the Robotech Masters' flagship and bring it to the ground.

BOWIE GRANT
Rank: Private
Age: 18-20
Actor: Larry Abraham

Bowie Grant is the son of Vince Grant, brother of the late Claudia Grant. He is not very suited for the military and prefers to play music on the piano rather than engaging in combat. Because of his great love for music, Bowie plays at clubs in the city, but sometimes gets himself into skirmishes with fans. This in turn gets Bowie involved with the Global Military Police, namely with Nova Satori, who even puts him into the brig, after Bowie had been involved in a altercation at a bar. Only due to his Godfather, General Rolf Emerson, intervention does Bowie ever get out of prison in-time to join the 15th Squad on a mission. The mission in which Bowie has just joined his squad, is one which would change his life. On this mission Bowie gets lost on the Master's flagship and meets Musica, a clone musician. Bowie would instantaneously fall in love with Musica, but gets seperate from her and after the 15th Squad's escape, Bowie wants very much to be with Musica again. This does occur on a later mission into the Master's flagship and this time after the 15th Squad's escape, Musica would return with them back to Earth. Of course, Bowie & Musica would end up being together forever.

MUSICA

One the Master's many clones, Musica however is a special clone with a specific task in the Robotech Masters' society. Together with her sisters Alegria & Octavia, she plays music that is used to keep the other clones passive and obedient. Musica herself plays the cosmic harp in this galactic choir. During a recon mission by the 15th ATAC, one of the soldiers, Bowie Grant, gets lost on the flagship and it so happens that he runs into Musica. During her brief encounter with Bowie, Musica feels for the first time emotions which she has never felt before. This in turn opens her mind up to new possibilities. Musica has trouble relating these new found feelings to her sisters; she even refuses mating with Karno, another clone whom has chosen to be her mate by the Robotech Masters. At the end of the series the 15th ATAC makes an attempt to destroy the Masters flagship from the inside. Their mission fails and are captured; only because of Musica due they escape and end up taking her back with them back to Earth. On Earth, Musica has a splendid time with Bowie as she learns what it means to be in love. She especially keeps a watchful eye on 15th ATAC because of their young & spirited leader, Dana Sterling. Day after day the tension mounts between Nova & Dana, because of the fact that Dana's easy going attitude is a totally contrary to Nova's spit-and-polish attitude. At the start of the second series Nova would end putting Dana in the brig for improper conduct and would later do the same to Bowie Grant for being in a fight with local citizens. When Zor Prime is captured and in the hospital, it's Nova who is put in charge of finding out all he knows about the alien invaders.

At the end of the series he's captured along with Marie Crystal & Lt. Brown by the Masters and are used in order to get Zor Prime & Musica back. With the creation of this empire, the Masters created, using Protoculture, giant warrior clones called the Zentreadi. The idea was to use these 40 feet giants to protect the Robotech Masters' Empire. With the constant attacks from the Invid and with the destruction of the Zentreadi forces, the Robotech Masters were unable to maintain their empire. In 2013 they began a 15 year long trip to Earth to recover the last known Protoculture Matrix, which was originally hidden in the SDF-1's reflex engines. Upon arrival, the Masters are immediately forced into battle with the Armies of the Southern Cross. Their only goal is to recover the Protoculture Matrix which they need to survive and will do anything to get it, even if it means destroying the human race. In their attempt to defeat the human forces they created Zor Prime, a clone of the original Zor. Their plan was to use Zor Prime as a spy to be able to learn about and defeat the human plans. During his time with the 15th squad, Zor get close to Dana who tries to help him remember who he is. As Zor spends more time in his new environment he begins to overcome the Master's programming and also to remember his past.
