Big West / Orguss 02 Project

The Earth is at peace again some 200 years after the space/time reforge; but all that is about to change with the discovery of an old Orguss mecha. As more of these newly called Decimators are uncovered, the two most powerful countries, Rivilia and Zafram, begin a war with each other.

1- Fool's Choice
The discovery and unearthing of Decimators continues until this day, thus a crew from the Rivilia government is hard at work recovering one, from the depths of a river. Among this crew is Lean, a young boy who works for Zante, an aging mechanic. Just as the recovery is completed, a representative of the palace guard, Lt. Manning arrives to pick up the Decimator. During their return flight, they are attacked by a Zafram mecha, but Lean, piloting the Decimator with Manning's help manage to escape, but Zante is killed in the process. Soon after, Zante's widow learns that she must give up the mechanic shop in order to pay a debt to the bank, but Lean decides to join the palace guard at Lt. Manning's request to help out with the money troubles, much to Torria's disapproval.

2- Where Angel's Fear to Tread
War between Rivilia and Zafram is eminent, as both countries arm themselves with as many Decimators as possible. At the same time, the Rivilian king dies and is replaced by his youngest son, much to the disgust of a government council member, who is removed from power soon after. As a secondary duty, palace guards are often required to go out on spy missions, thus Lean and Lt. Manning are ordered to infiltrate Zafram territory and steal some Decimators. They take the train through a neutral country and arrive in a small village near the decimator mining facility posing as lingerie salesmen. Manning steals a mining uniform and enters the camp to find, much to his amazement, the biggest Decimator ever unearthed. He gets discovered and makes his escape by stealing a mecha. Meanwhile, Lean, back at the hotel, gets an unexpected visit from a mysterious girl, obviously running away from the Zafram military. Lean offers to help in her escape by taking her back to Rivilia, but Manning is unable to get to them with the giant Decimator on his tail.

3- Fugitives
The mysterious girl, whom reveals her name to be Nataruma, and Lean having survived and escaped the last attack, begin a long walk to the Rivilia/Zafram border, in order to escape certain capture if they should remain in Zafram territory. The Zafram military has already begun searching for them, but they hide from surveying mecha thanks to Nataruma's ability to sense incoming enemy mecha. To speed up their journey, they get a ride from a old fellow traveling on his horse drawn cart. Meanwhile, Lt. Manning is alive and well and has returned with the information on the giant Decimator unit, but no one believes him; he still gets promoted nevertheless for stealing a Decimator. At the same time, both countries make formal declarations of war, but it would seem that Zafram has the upper hand, with their giant Decimator already raging havoc. As for Lean and Nataruma, they begin making a run for the border in a stolen military vehicle, because of pursuit from two Zafram Decimators. They are saved however, when a never before seen Decimator arrives and saves them, but then tries to kidnap Nataruma. The Decimator finally leaves, when more enemies approach, but not before Lean sees strange antennas in Nataruma's hair!

4- Searcher
Assuming that Lean may be dead, Cmdr. Manning tells Torria and receives a slap in the face for his information. But Lean is quite fine thank you, and has now boarded the train with Nataruma and are heading for the Rivilian capital city. Upon arrival, Lean asks Zante's widow if Nataruma can stay with them, which she greets with open arms. On the front lines, the battle does not go well for Rivilian soldiers who are simply being run over by the giant Decimator. Lean reports back to the palace guards, where he receives fake tears from Manning. Meanwhile, the government has taken Manning's word seriously, and has put up wanted posters for the mysterious girl. Nataruma is captured soon after. Upon returning home, Lean is confronted by Torria, who tells how the soldiers arrived and took Nataruma away. Lean decides that he must repay her for saving his life back in Zafram territory, so he runs of to her rescue. Lean manages to sneak in and get Nataruma, but upon passing the second gates, the alarm is sounded. They run and Lean pushes Nataruma pass the third and final gates, only to be shot. Nataruma uses her special powers once again to rip the gates apart and kill the soldier. At that very moment, a old man appears taking both of them into the mysterious mecha from before, and escapes.

5- Destroyer
The first snow fall begins, and the neglected Prince Pirian claims his rightful position as King of Rivilia, and kills all who oppose him. Meanwhile, Lean & Nataruma make acquaintance with their savior, Tai, a robot from the Mu, a race of robots (see original series). He explains to them that upon the reforging of space/time, not everything was put back into order. Some individuals, like Nataruma, who is actually an Emaan, and the Decimators ended up in other worlds. This all happened 200 years ago, and since that time, Tai, has been living in the remains of the Orbital Elevator, repairing himself, constructing a new Orguss 2 and creating a new space/time oscillation bomb in hopes of putting everything back for good. Knowing that things can be really ugly, Manning sends Torria and her mother to another city, to live with his ex-wife. The Zafram giant Decimator continues its advance into enemy territory, but the Rivilian army launches a surprise attack, destroying the Decimators legs, slowing its advancement.

6- Those Who Wish for Tomorrow
King Pirian shows Manning his recent discovery, the "Lebo", another giant Decimator and the most powerful of its kind. He never planned to use it, but now must in order to protect Rivilia from the Zafram. The battle begins, but the damaged Zafram Decimator is no match for the "Lebo". Tai further explains that with Nataruma's special powers he will be able to activate the space/time oscillation bomb and set everything right. However, the "Lebo" is causing some interference, thus Lean and Nataruma set out in the Orguss 2 to stop Pirian, how now seems overhelmed by hatred. Battle begins, and the Orguss 2 inflicts some considerable damage, but at this point, Manning, who's aboard the "Lebo" must interfere with Pirian in order to help out Lean. Lean and Nataruma crash land on the bridge and kill Pirian, ending it all. Now Nataruma helps out Tai to activate the oscillation bomb, and all the Decimators begin to disappear... Lean and Nataruma say their final good byes as well. Nataruma returns to the Emaan homeworld, Manning now becomes a lowly salesman and Lean takes over Zante's shop and becomes what he's always wanted to be... a simple mechanic.
