Well its about time! Harmony Gold has teamed up with Funimation to finally release the latest installment of Robotech to the general public. Funimation will distribute Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, and 88 minute film, in theatrical form and on DVD, I'm hoping before the end of the year. A Christmas present would be nice :) Harmony Gold plans to release more information in the coming days, but until then, you can read the initial news from this article on the Anime News Network.
Been a long time since I've wrote something, sorry guys time are changing. I have more responsibilities at work and thus a few longer hours here and there and not much time from my favorite
series. That being said, still can't wait to see the new series!
Well this year Robotech is present at many conventions and Vincent McHenry has let me know that he will be running the Robotech BattleCry 2006 Tournamemt at this years AnimeExpo in Anaheim, California. The Expo is just around the corner (July 1st to 4th), so better sign up now to get a chance to check out some great anime and play in the tournament! I've got links below to the official tournament poster and a pic of the prizes... enjoy everyone!

2006.01.28 | Got my Robotech Remastered Edition
Earlier this month I received my Robotech Remastered Edition DVDs (I now have the series three times over!) and the 20th Annivesary CD.
The DVDs are great, the colors are more lively and to my surprise they have added in some more sound effects. Now, when doors slam, or objects hit other objects, those sounds can be heard, a nice touch. I've only watched a few episodes for now, but I'm sure I'll watch all of them as time goes by. As for the CD, it has everything the 10th Annivesary CD had and a few more tracks that have always been missing, such as "The Right Move", "The Cosmic Harp" and others. All-in-all a good quality buy for hard-coded and casual fans alike.
2005.11.21 | Details of AC Cubed show and Shadow Chronicles information!
Well folks, here it is, all the details you've ever wanted about the upcoming Shadow Chronicles is here! Like the title says, this past weekend I was in Ottawa, Canada (couple hours from Montreal where I live) at the AC Cubed convention to get details on the series. Well, actually you see, its not a new series, but a film. All the details about the film is located on this page, so head over and read all the details!
The convention was great, the first for me, lots of anime shown, a masquerade event and more. The point of interest for me of course was regarding Robotech. The main gentleman there from Harmony Gold was Kevin McKeever, from the production staff. The first workshop I attended was given by Kevin and another gentlemen whos name escapes me now, entitled "Inside Film and TV Production". It was very information session, we learned how thinks work in Hollywood, had some laughs talking about the Go-Bots and also got some info as to why Robotech 3000 never made it. Basically it sucked :)
Right after lunch we got a treat in meeting Dan Worren, the voice actor for Roy Fokker. He gave us a lot of insight into the voice acting profession, some of his personal experiences and an autograph of him as a Borg from his appearance in Star Trek: First Contact! He also kept on mentioning how most of his characters keep getting killed off :)
Later in the evening we got to have some real fun in a voice acting workshop. Kevin McKeever brought with him a couple of the original scripts used back in 1985. Five guys and five girls we're chosen to read either as Rick or Minmei, each doing two takes, one with Kevin as a warm up and then with Dan, doing his best Roy Fokker impersonation... wait a minute :) It was a very fun evening for all, and especially for those that participated, as they got an original animation cell used in the production of the original series.
Finally the big day was Sunday, where we had a two hour workshop regarding the new film. Kevin gave a PowerPoint presentation on how things got started and general production information. Then he showed us the promotional video they show to all potential distributors and it was awesome. Really left a great impression on me and now I am impatiently waiting for this new release! Finally, there was a question and answer period and some bonus questions in the end, where the correct answer won you a MasterPiece Collection item!
So it was great weekend, I am looking forward to The Shadow Chronicles and I hope you guys are as well! Don't forget to read the details.
Some pictures:
2005.11.20 | Shadow Chronicles News from AC Cubed!

2005.04.03 | Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles update
Well after a long hiatus, here is my first update of 2005! Work has consumed my time lately, but I predict the second half to be very exiting for Robotech with the new series on its way. character designer Yoshitaka Amano.
Final piece of news comes to us by Justin. The "Super Dimentional Fortress Macross Game" PlayStation 2 game

to rent it and check it out. I'll let you more about it then.
2003.09.23 | More merchandising news!!
Merchandising seems to be the biggest things these days in the Robotech world. Next issue of the Robotech comics is out (I've got mine already). And the Limited Edition Metallic Alphas are out! I've got mine too :) Love the little sucker, I've got it at work right over my PC. I got the green one.
Remeber a while back Justin had dropped me a line regarding a new PS2 game from Bandai based on the original Macross TV series. Well Bandai has an official web site dedicated to the game which is located here. The site has info on the game and characters - although all in Japanese - and some cool in-game movies for everyone to look at. So check it out and remember it comes out next month!

Also, a young man by the name of Justin has dropped me some information about two upcoming Macross games. The first one is being released by Bandai and is based on the original Macross TV series. It is very similar to Robotech: BattleCry and the graphics looks great. You can learn all about it here. It will be available this October. The second one is called "Macross VO" and is basically the same thing, however this one is for the PC, while the first one is for the PlayStation 2 and is currently available.

2003.02.15 | CD from SaintDragon
Paul from SaintDragon has let me know that their new album entitled "Direct Hit" has just been released. This album contains the excellent song "Lisa Hayes" which they wrote in tribute to the Robotech character of the same name. Visit their site for full information and to buy their CD.
2003.01.30 | Rock'n'Roll and Robotech
Music is such an integral part of Robotech. The songs created for the original series by Minucci, Ober, Bradley and others are so memorable. The songs where used wonderfully at keys points in the episodes to compliment the emotions we felt as a results of the events occuring during that specific episode. The background music was also key, even today when I hear certain melodies it reminds me of certain moments in the series.
And now, for the first time ever (from what I know) an amateur band by the name of SaintDragon has created a song about Lisa Hayes, a central character from the first saga of Robotech. I've had the chance to listen to the song and it is quite good and worth the download. You guys should head over to their site http://www.saintdragon.com and click on the MP3 link on the left side. You'll then see the song to download.

2003.01.20 | Robotech BattleCry review
Just got an email from Mike, a Robotech fan from the land down under. He's been playing Robotech BattleCry and offered this review of the game:
I've been playing Robotech: BattleCry this past weekend and I must say it's fun! The game by Vicious Cycle and TDK Mediactive is definitly something all Robotech fans should try at least once, if not own it all together. The game was created for the XBox, GameCube and the PlayStation 2, I'm playing it on the latter.
Gameplay is everything in a game, and I must say BattlCry has good gameplay and it is fun. The veritech you fly about in, can transform into all three modes (of course!) and watching those rockets fly about in typical anime style is so fun! So far, I've mastered beating up my brother and friends in one-on-one battles and I've played until the sixth mission in story mode.
In story mode, you basically play out the missions you saw in the original series, defending the SDF-1 and attacking Zentraedi cruisers! Moving and attacking in all three modes takes some getting used too, especially guardian mode (in my humble opinion, although a 10 year old might master it quite quickly).
I don't know if I'll get a chance to finish off the game, since I am renting the game and the console itself, but I would like to hear your opions of the game, so drop me a line!
2003.01.13 | Games images
Here are some images from the Macross game mentioned yesterday:
2003.01.12 | Comic book issue #2
I can't keep telling you guys how good the new comic books are. I just pick up issue #2 yesterday and I am really enjoy them and so is my brother. It's like watching the original Robotech series all over again, except we are seeing and discovering things we didn't previously see or know. It's simply great.
2003.01.12 | Macross merchandise
Justin was kind enough to drop me a note with some Macross merchandise information. Two things, first of which is the "Macross 20th Anniversary DVD". This DVD contains pilots for Macross 3D, Macross Zero, game movies, toy commercials and much more... You can purchase it here, although it's probably available at other places. The second item is aparently a Macross game for the PC. All the info regarding the game is located here, just click on Game Development link to read about.
2003.01.04 | Comic book review
Hello to everyone and Happy New Year! So this is my first post of 2003 and it's regarding the new series of Robotech Comic Books. I've purchases issues #0 and #1 and I must say that they are very good. The quality of the drawings are superb and the story has me intrigued. The starts off just before the crash of the SDF-1, so we are likely to see famous places and faces; however the comic books are going to reveal some information about the characters that we don't see in the series, which is really neat. I definitely recommend this new comic series to all fans and I look forward to the next issue coming this month.

A fellow Robotech fan has sent us his impressions of the game thus far:
I picked up the game a couple of weeks ago. I was and am an avid fan of the anime series. I have to tell you the gameplay and look of the game is very reminiscent of the series. The controls are easy to learn and it almost feels like you're flying in the series. More than that the gameplay is fun.

2002.04.01 | Robotech 3000 footage!
On this day for fools, Harmony Gold has released footage of what could have been. What am I talking about? Robotech 3000. We first heard about this series a couple of years ago. Little has been known about the series, but on this day Harmony Gold has revealed that the plot centered around Protocultured powered machines that mutate into menacing creatures. They also put up a clip of the completely 3D series right here for us to view for the first time ever.
Unfortunately, the series has been canceled. No word yet on if Harmony Gold is to develop a new series, 3D or otherwise in the near future, but we do have some hope :) Enjoy the clip for now.

And just yesterday they put up a chat transcript they had with Doug and Ian, both developers on the game at the time. The article is an interesting read and let's us in on how big a game it was going to be (and how great too!). So enjoy!
2002.03.22 | Merchandise Updates
A few notes about certain merchandising items. The final installament of the Robotech DVD set has been released and is now available from the Robotech Store. One note about the 7th and final installment made by ADV Films is that a second pressing has been released. The first release of the 7th box set was in a gold box, whereas the second pressing is a green box. This keeps it consistant with the 6th box set which was also in green.
The individual Robotech Super-Poseables Figures are now available through the Robotech Store as well. There are five model availables, each of them at a cost of $69.95 US.
2002.03.22 | Lost Video

2002.01.08 | Site news and a few bits of news
First off, my apologies for having the site down the last couple months during the last few days of each month. You guys are visiting the site so often now that I am exceeding my bandwidth limitation. Not only that but I had to removed some images from the gallery section becuase of the new size restriction FreeServers.com has put. I will attempt to fix both of these issues ASAP.
For those of you wondering what the Macross Box Set is like, there is a review of the entire series at AnimeOnDVD. The entire box set review, as well as each individual video review can be found here.
Finally a quick reminder, the submitions for the Robotech Flash contest come to a close at the end of this month, so you'd better hurry up. and if you have no idea what I am talking about, take a look here.

Some people don't give up :) Actually I think it's good thing, since it shows Harmony Gold that Robotech fans really care and want to see some Robotech even after so many years.
I just got an email this past weekend from someone who has started a petition for Robotech II: The Sentinels. From what we know of the series, it is hard to tell if it would have been any good, but I know Harmony Gold can do it if they want too. So let's make them think about it :)
The petition can be found here.

As we know, this is not enough. I'm sure they will probably decide to increase production and get more out, but we will have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more information.

2001.11.01 | Various news from here and there
Hello everyone,
First off, I apologise for the downtime the past two days. FreeServer.com my host, cut off the web site because I surpassed my bandwith limit as of October 30th and we are back up today :) I checked the stats and during the month I had one thousand people visit my site during a week's span, that's just awesome! Thanks to all for that. I hope it doesn't happen again, but should it, I'll seriously consider paying for extra bandwith and a banner free site.
